--- ## Description This grant supports scholarly research in Native American linguistics, ethnohistory, and the history of studies of Native Americans in the continental United States and Canada. It is designed to fund research-related expenses such as travel, audio and video recordings, and consultants' fees. The program distinguishes ethnohistory (the study of cultures and cultural change through time) from contemporary ethnography and does not support projects in archaeology, ethnography, psycholinguistics, equipment purchase, or development of pedagogical materials.
