Description
The Plus One ADU Program, administered by New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) via the Housing Trust Fund Corporation (HTFC), provides funding to local governments and nonprofit housing development organizations to establish or improve Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) for low- and middle-income homeowners. The program aims to increase the supply of high-quality, code-compliant ADUs across New York State, supporting both new construction and the legalization or rehabilitation of existing units. Local Program Administrators (LPAs) deliver comprehensive services, including pre-development planning, construction oversight, and post-construction compliance monitoring, to ensure ADUs are safe, affordable, and sustainable housing options.
