Description
This opportunity provides funding for an accredited poison control center to cover calls to the Poison Help Line (1-800-222-1222) originating from Puerto Rico. The program’s goal is to reduce poisonings and their associated harms by ensuring that individuals in Puerto Rico can access expert consultation and guidance on poisoning prevention and management. The awardee will also collect and report data to inform public health and emergency preparedness efforts.
The program is authorized under 42 U.S.C. § 300d-73 and is part of HRSA’s broader effort to ensure national coverage and data collection for poison control services.
