Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers advancing plant science, agriculture, and food biotechnology for sustainable solutions at Nordic research institutions.

--- ## Description This fellowship supports outstanding postdoctoral researchers conducting fundamental and strategic research in plant science, agriculture (terrestrial/plant-based, including forestry), and food biotechnology. Projects must address major challenges related to sustainable agriculture and food production, aiming to develop independent research areas at universities or non-profit research institutions in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, or Sweden. Priority research areas include: - Developing resilient, productive, and resource-efficient plants - Utilizing microorganisms for sustainability across the agricultural value chain - Advancing sustainable systems in agriculture, food, and forestry - Creating sustainable plant-, microorganism-, and fungi-based ingredients and foods - Exploring precision fermentation, fungi, algae, insects, and cellular agriculture for food production - Developing enabling technologies, including those driven by data science, for sustainable agriculture and food production Proposals should significantly advance knowledge beyond the current state-of-the-art and may include high-risk elements, provided they are rooted in life sciences.
