Description
The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) offers competitive fellowships for graduate students, predoctoral candidates, and postdoctoral researchers to conduct independent research related to global environmental change, ecosystems, and biodiversity. Fellows work in-residence with Smithsonian research staff, utilizing SERC’s extensive field sites and resources. Research topics include climate change, biological invasions, biodiversity loss, nutrient loading, pollution, food webs, disease ecology, and land use. Appointments provide opportunities for interdisciplinary research, professional development, and science-based conservation impact.
