This grant supports U.S. citizen pre-doctoral candidates who have completed all doctoral coursework and wish to conduct 4–8 weeks of exploratory research in Egypt. The aim is to help scholars identify sources, build professional networks, visit heritage sites, libraries, and archives, and refine research methodologies in the early stages of their dissertation projects. Funding is provided by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC). Eligible fields include anthropology, archaeology, architecture, art history, Egyptology, history, humanistic social sciences, and related disciplines.
