Description
PrepareRI is a statewide career-connected learning initiative supported by the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training. It brings schools, employers, and workforce organizations together to help Rhode Island students explore careers, develop skills through work-based learning, and prepare for college and the workforce. Its High School Internship Program places students in paid summer internships with employers.
The initiative is led by an interagency team that includes the Governor’s Workforce Board, the Rhode Island Department of Education, the Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, and Commerce. Its Destination 2030 plan focuses on expanding access to career and technical education, credentials, and work-based learning while addressing disparities in student participation and outcomes.
