--- ## Description This funding opportunity supports multidisciplinary research focused on understanding and preventing overweight and obesity. Projects should investigate the biological, psychological, lifestyle, and socio-environmental mechanisms underlying the onset and progression of overweight and obesity, including neglected determinants and their interdependencies. The call also seeks proposals developing and assessing novel prevention strategies and tools, especially during critical transitional periods of life—such as postpartum, menopause, and other significant biological or socio-environmental changes. Research should provide evidence-based recommendations for policymakers, considering both health and economic impacts. --- ## Due Dates - First cut-off: January 21, 2026 (12:00 Brussels time) - Second cut-off: June 11, 2026 (12:00 Brussels time) A two-stage application process applies: pre-proposals are submitted first; selected applicants will be invited to submit full proposals. --- ## Funding Amount - Total funding available: €18,940,000 - Project budgets and durations are determined by national/regional funding rules for each partner. - Funding is provided via national/regional agencies; applicants must comply with their own agency’s eligibility and budget rules. --- ## Eligibility - Eligible applicants: Academia, clinical/public health sector, enterprises, and operational stakeholders (subject to national/regional regulations—see call text Annex I). - Consortium requirements: - Minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 eligible partners from at least 3 participating countries. - At least 2 partners from different EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. - No more than 2 partners from the same country per consortium. - Maximum 2 collaborators/associated partners per consortium. - For consortia including partners from Estonia, Slovakia, or Taiwan, the maximum number of partners increases to 6 or 7. - Each principal investigator may submit 1 proposal as coordinator or up to 2 as a partner (but not both).
