Description
This program supports state correctional agencies in preventing, detecting, and responding to sexual abuse and sexual harassment in correctional facilities, as well as implementing the National Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Standards. The initiative is part of the Department of Justice’s broader mission to uphold the rule of law, ensure public safety, and protect civil rights. Funding is intended to help agencies address public safety challenges and advance compliance with federal standards related to the elimination of prison rape.
