Summary: Intensive two-week summer program at IAS offering advanced lectures and collaborative sessions on current topics in theoretical physics for graduate students and postdocs.
Prospects in Theoretical Physics (PiTP) is an annual, two-week summer program hosted by the School of Natural Sciences at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) in Princeton, NJ. The program is designed for advanced graduate students and postdoctoral scholars interested in theoretical physics. Each year, PiTP focuses on a frontier topic in theoretical physics—recent themes have included gravitational waves, celestial holography, quantum matter, and more.
Participants engage in lectures, informal sessions, and collaborative discussions led by internationally recognized faculty from IAS, Princeton University, and partner institutions. The program is particularly committed to supporting students from institutions with smaller graduate programs, fostering a collaborative environment and supplementing academic training in theoretical physics.
