This cooperative agreement opportunity seeks to strengthen and sustain Ghana's public health systems by engaging local partners. The initiative aims to enhance the country's capacity to prevent, detect, and respond swiftly to infectious disease threats, leveraging multi-sectoral and multilateral collaboration. Building on previous CDC-funded efforts in laboratory systems, surveillance, emergency response, and workforce development, this program expands to include surveillance and laboratory capacity in border districts, as well as sequencing and bioinformatics. The overarching goal is to improve the prevention of avoidable epidemics, enable early detection of disease threats, and ensure rapid, effective responses to public health emergencies.
