The Craig H. Neilsen Foundation’s Psychosocial Research (PSR) program supports research that advances understanding and development of interventions to improve mental, behavioral, and social health for people living with spinal cord injury (SCI). The program funds diverse research areas, from health behaviors and independent living to caregiving, peer mentoring, employment, and social participation. A core value of the PSR portfolio is the meaningful involvement of individuals with lived SCI experience in every stage of research, from design to dissemination. Funding is available in three categories: Postdoctoral Fellowships (mentored training), Investigational Grants (understanding psychosocial issues and early intervention testing), and Interventional Testing (creation/refinement and initial efficacy testing of interventions).
