The Russell Sage Foundation’s Race, Ethnicity, and Immigration program funds innovative, investigator-initiated research examining how race, ethnicity, nativity, and legal status—interacting with other social categories—shape social, economic, and political outcomes for immigrants, U.S.-born racial and ethnic minorities, and native-born whites. The program encourages multi-disciplinary approaches and seeks projects that advance understanding of pluralism and social inclusion in the United States. Research topics of interest include, but are not limited to, intergroup relations, immigration policy, immigrant integration, the role of legal status, social movements, racial and ethnic competition, criminal justice, and the historical and legal dimensions of race and immigration.
