The Rainforest Investigations Network (RIN) is a Pulitzer Center initiative designed to empower experienced investigative journalists to uncover the drivers and impacts of deforestation in the world’s major tropical rainforest regions: the Amazon, Congo Basin, and Southeast Asia. The fellowship emphasizes cross-border collaboration, advanced investigative techniques (including data analysis and geospatial tools), and impactful, solutions-oriented reporting. Fellows receive editorial, data, and research support, as well as training and access to a global network of peers. The goal is to produce high-impact stories that drive real-world change and awareness of rainforest threats, with findings shared through media and educational outreach.
