    Description

This fund provides support for the reconstruction, restoration, rehabilitation, and maintenance of trails and greenways throughout Western New York. Established by the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation at the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, the initiative aims to ensure that regional trails remain accessible, functional, and connected, benefiting recreation and community use. Funding is available for a range of activities, including construction, habitat restoration, planting native species, waterfront restoration, and installation of essential trail amenities (e.g., lighting, benches, educational kiosks).

Projects must address critical needs to enable long-term sustainability and connectivity of the trail or greenway. Preference is given to projects benefiting key regional trails and greenways, and proposals must demonstrate public support, connectivity, and a plan for long-term maintenance.
