Summary: Supports emerging scholars in legal history to complete major research and participate in academic workshops at Harvard Law School.
This fellowship is designed to assist scholars in legal history who are nearing completion of their doctoral dissertations or who have recently earned a doctoral degree. The primary aim is to enable the fellow to complete a significant piece of writing in legal history while launching an academic career. The fellowship is open to scholars working on any geographical area or time period, broadly defined within the field of legal history.
Fellows are expected to devote most of their time to their own research projects, participate in the Harvard Law School Legal History Workshop (a semester-long seminar), and assist with occasional legal history sessions under the guidance of faculty. The fellowship term runs from July 1 to June 30, and fellows must be in residence at Harvard Law School during the academic year (September–May).
