The Rapid Impact Research Award is designed to support early and mid-career investigators proposing innovative research that advances the American Heart Association’s mission to improve cardiovascular and brain health. The program specifically targets projects in three priority areas: sudden cardiac arrest/resuscitation science, Cardiovascular Kidney Metabolic Syndrome (CKMS), and stroke and/or vascular dementias. Proposals should aim to address key knowledge gaps in these fields, with an emphasis on impactful, novel approaches. The AHA encourages applications from individuals of diverse backgrounds, especially those who have faced career obstacles or have non-traditional trajectories, and expects all proposals to reflect a commitment to health equity.
