Description
The New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of New Americans (ONA), funds essential case management and initial employment services for refugees and other populations eligible for services through the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). The program supports effective resettlement, rapid economic self-sufficiency, and meaningful integration into New Jersey communities as soon as possible after enrollment.
Funding comes from ORR within the United States Department of Health and Human Services through state-administered Refugee Support Services. Services must be culturally and linguistically appropriate and trauma-informed, with free, timely language assistance for clients with limited English proficiency. ONA strongly prefers broad regional or statewide coverage across multiple counties using multiple service delivery modalities.
