Description
This funding opportunity provides support for Wetland Program Development Grants (WPDGs) in EPA Region 3, which includes Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia, as well as tribal lands within these states. The program aims to enhance the capacity of state, tribal, territory, local, and interstate agencies to develop or refine wetland programs that protect, manage, and restore wetlands. Projects should align with EPA’s goals of increasing both the quantity and quality of wetlands by conserving and restoring acreage and improving wetland conditions.
Applicants can propose projects under two tracks:
- Track One (WPP): For state, tribal, and territory agencies developing or updating EPA-approved Wetland Program Plans or implementing eligible actions from such plans.
- Track Two (Non-WPP): For local governments, interstate agencies, intertribal consortia, and state agencies/universities not applying under Track One, focusing on developing or refining wetland programs through eligible activities.
All projects must focus on program development or refinement, not on implementation of routine or established practices.
