This opportunity seeks proposals to lead and execute a regional fire science exchange for a two-year period as part of the Joint Fire Science Program’s Fire Science Exchange Network (FSEN). The FSEN is a national collaborative of 15 regional exchanges that deliver current, relevant wildland fire science to federal, state, local, tribal, and private stakeholders within ecologically similar regions. Each funded exchange will facilitate collaboration among fire, fuel, natural resource, and land managers, practitioners, and scientists to address critical regional wildland fire management needs and challenges.
For this cycle, individual proposals are invited for the following six regions: California, Great Plains, Lake States, Southern, Southern Rockies, and Tallgrass Prairie. Each proposal must address only one region. The work includes science delivery, outreach, and partnership development tailored to the unique needs of the selected region.
