This opportunity funds the Regional Pediatric Prevention Network (RPPN), a national initiative aimed at enhancing pediatric disaster and emergency preparedness and response. The RPPN will consist of at least 10 children’s hospitals or affiliated university pediatric partners, organized into two primary awardees, each responsible for a network of at least five centers. The program advances preparedness, resilience, and continuity of care for children—especially those with special health care needs, behavioral health concerns, those living in poverty, and children in rural, remote, and tribal areas. Activities include building community partnerships, disseminating research-informed care practices, expanding telehealth, and improving pediatric readiness in emergency departments and EMS agencies.
