This program funds the establishment and operation of a Regional Pediatric Prevention Network (RPPN) to enhance the capacity of children's hospitals and their university pediatric partners to care for children during disasters and emergencies. The RPPN aims to foster community partnerships, coordinate pediatric preparedness activities, and disseminate research-informed practices in pediatric disaster care. The network will include at least 10 children’s hospitals or their university pediatric partners, funded through two primary cooperative agreements, and will also engage relevant community partners. The initiative targets improved preparedness and care for children with special health care needs, behavioral health concerns, those living in poverty, and those in rural, remote, or tribal areas.
