The Kansas NSF EPSCoR Research & Education Innovation (REI) Awards are designed to catalyze small-scale, high-impact research or education projects throughout Kansas. These awards foster networking, planning, or rapid pursuit of larger, transformational initiatives, and are particularly focused on high-risk, high-reward ideas in line with the spirit of NSF EAGER grants. While proposals in any area related to ARISE research and education are welcome, special consideration is given to topics such as bias in machine learning and automation, resiliency and risk mitigation in indigenous communities, and emergency management/disaster planning. The program seeks to advance knowledge and address pressing societal challenges through innovative approaches.
