Summary: Supports innovative, faculty-led research and creative projects in the arts and humanities across NYU’s global campuses.
The Arts and Humanities Exploration Research Grants are internal funding awards offered by New York University’s Center for the Humanities and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research. This program aims to foster innovative and consequential scholarship and creative practices in the arts and humanities. Funding is designed to support faculty at any stage of a project, including early-stage idea development, interdisciplinary collaboration, public-facing or archival work, and the dissemination of significant scholarly or artistic contributions.
Grants may be used for a wide variety of activities, such as research planning, fieldwork, creative production, community partnership development, publication costs, and more. The program prioritizes projects that have the potential to make meaningful scholarly, artistic, or public contributions, and especially encourages interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts across NYU’s New York, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai campuses.
