Dumbarton Oaks Research Fellowships provide immersive, residential support for advanced research projects in the fields of Byzantine Studies, Pre-Columbian Studies, and Garden and Landscape Studies. Fellowships are available to scholars with terminal degrees, while Junior Fellowships support graduate students who have completed all preliminary requirements for their terminal degree and are working on dissertations or final projects. Summer Fellowships are offered for Byzantine and Pre-Columbian scholars at any level beyond the first year of graduate study. All fellows join a vibrant scholarly community, benefit from institutional resources, and are expected to be in residence at Dumbarton Oaks for the duration of their award.
