Description
The Dermatology Foundation’s Research Grants provide seed funding to help junior investigators initiate research projects in dermatology and cutaneous biology. Part of the Foundation’s Research Award Program, the grants support work that benefits the dermatology community at large and helps investigators develop their academic research careers. The broader program aims to advance dermatologic science and patient care by supporting promising investigators and innovative ideas.
The Foundation encourages applicants from minority populations and research addressing health issues affecting racial minorities, sexual and gender/LGBTQ minorities, and underserved or disadvantaged populations. Past Research Grants span skin inflammation, immune responses, skin cancer, tissue development, and diagnostic testing. Examples include immune-stromal crosstalk in discoid lupus in skin of color, melanoma metabolism, and cutaneous microbiota in Darier disease.
