    Description

The Research on the Arts Program (RAP) is a collaborative initiative between the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) and the Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS). RAP aims to support interdisciplinary and experimental research on artistic practices relevant to the Arab region, encouraging projects that bridge the arts, humanities, and social sciences. The program seeks to generate critical knowledge about the interplay between art, society, and broader social, economic, and political contexts. It welcomes a wide range of research strategies and outputs, requiring a substantial written component and encouraging comparative, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary approaches. Proposals may address topics such as art and everyday life, historical and contemporary art practices, art and the state, pop culture, marginalized art histories, and more.
