The Research Scholar Grant is designed to support junior faculty members in radiology, radiation oncology, or nuclear medicine at North American educational institutions who have completed their residency and fellowship but are not yet established as independent investigators. The grant aims to help recipients build their research careers by providing funding to collect preliminary data, which can be leveraged for future research opportunities, such as NIH grants. The program welcomes investigator-initiated proposals across all domains of radiologic science and encourages projects in priority areas including precision medicine, imaging in vulnerable populations, efficiency improvements in radiology, personalized pediatric imaging, cybersecurity, and increasing access to care. The overarching goal is to foster innovation and advancement in radiology by enabling early-career researchers to develop or evaluate medical imaging technologies and apply imaging in novel ways to address significant biological or clinical challenges.
