The Resources Agency Sea Grant Advisory Panel (RASGAP) is a legislatively mandated program supporting scientific research that addresses California's coastal and ocean management and policy needs. Convened by the California Ocean Protection Council (OPC) on behalf of the Secretary for Natural Resources, RASGAP collaborates with California’s two Sea Grant programs—California Sea Grant and University of Southern California Sea Grant—to fund research informing state management and policy decisions. The panel includes representatives from state agencies, the legislature, academia, and industry, ensuring that funded projects align with state priorities. RASGAP also provides the required state funding match to leverage federal Sea Grant funds.
