Responsive Grants under the Asia Program of the Henry Luce Foundation are designed to build knowledge and increase understanding of East and Southeast Asia through scholarship and exchange. The program especially seeks to strengthen Asia-focused capacity in the United States and welcomes innovative, field-advancing initiatives in Asian studies, particularly in the humanities and qualitative social sciences. Supported activities include research and training, collaborative infrastructure-building, creation of scholarly and public resources, policy-relevant research and dialogue, public education, next-generation training and leadership development, and cross-disciplinary or cross-sector collaboration. The program is deliberately broad and responsive, encouraging proposals that address new ideas, trends, and priorities in Asian studies.
