The Reviewer-in-Training (RIT) Program, offered by the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) Foundation, is designed to train and mentor individuals in the process of reviewing grant proposals. Participants gain direct experience in grant review and are prepared for future roles in study sections for organizations such as societies, foundations, and government agencies (including NIH). The program emphasizes the importance of diverse perspectives and inclusion to strengthen the field of interventional radiology. Selected participants are paired with experienced mentors and are expected to commit to reviewing for two consecutive SIR Foundation Grant Review Study Sections.
