The Richard Braddock Award is presented annually by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) to recognize the author(s) of the most outstanding article on writing or the teaching of writing published in the journal College Composition and Communication (CCC) during the previous calendar year. Established in memory of Richard Braddock, this award celebrates exceptional scholarship that advances the field of composition and communication. Selection is made by a dedicated committee that reviews all refereed articles published in CCC within the eligible year; external nominations or applications are not accepted. The award is announced at the annual Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) Convention.
