This short-term fellowship supports graduate students undertaking anthropological research related to contemporary indigenous communities, linguistics and endangered languages, or cultural diversity. The research must be conducted in residence at the Department of Anthropology at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), Smithsonian Institution, in Washington, DC. Fellows are expected to fully engage with the NMNH community and utilize its collections and facilities. The program encourages research that directly relates to NMNH resources and requires applicants to select an NMNH research scientist as their advisor.
