The Rome Prize, awarded by the American Academy in Rome, offers residential fellowships to approximately thirty emerging and established artists and scholars each year. Recipients pursue innovative, cross-disciplinary work in the arts and humanities while living and working in a vibrant community on the Academy’s campus in Rome. Fellows receive a stipend, private accommodations, a dedicated workspace, and weekday meals, and are immersed in an environment fostering creative and intellectual exchange. Disciplines include architecture, landscape architecture, design, literature, musical composition, visual arts, ancient/medieval/Renaissance/early modern/modern Italian studies, historic preservation, and more.
