Description
The Rome Prize, administered by the American Academy in Rome and supported by the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, is a prestigious fellowship program that recognizes and supports innovative artists and scholars in the arts and humanities. Each year, approximately thirty fellowships are awarded, providing recipients with the opportunity to pursue their creative or scholarly projects during an immersive residency in Rome. The program encourages cross-disciplinary exchange and scholarly advancement, offering a unique environment for both individual work and community engagement.
Fellows receive a stipend, housing (private room with bath), a private workspace, and weekday meals through the Rome Sustainable Food Project. Residencies typically last for five months (half-term) or ten months (full-term), with awardees drawn from a wide array of disciplines in the arts and humanities.
