Description
NASA’s Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) is the Science Mission Directorate’s (SMD) annual omnibus research announcement. ROSES-2024 solicits basic and applied research proposals across a wide range of space, Earth, planetary, astrophysics, heliophysics, and biological/physical sciences. The announcement is structured as a collection of over 100 individual program elements, each with its own specific topics, requirements, and deadlines.
Proposals may address theory, modeling, data analysis, technology development, flight-based investigations (including CubeSats, ISS payloads, suborbital platforms), and more. Awards are made as grants, cooperative agreements, or (rarely) contracts, depending on the nature of the work and the proposing organization.
Researchers should consult the ROSES-2024 NSPIRES page and the Summary of Solicitation (PDF) for full details, including program element lists, due dates, and proposal requirements.
