The Incentive Grants program provides seed funding to pharmacists, community pharmacy residents, and student pharmacists to develop, implement, or enhance innovative patient care services within pharmacy practice. The program is the longest-running initiative of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation and is designed to foster leadership and innovation in ambulatory and community pharmacy settings. Supported by the Community Pharmacy Foundation and other partners, the grants encourage the development of new practice models and the advancement of pharmacy-based patient care, with an emphasis on addressing unmet health needs and piloting novel service delivery approaches.
Each year, the program funds projects across a wide range of focus areas, including but not limited to chronic disease management, immunization, medication safety, mental and behavioral health, pharmacy workplace conditions, social determinants of health, and innovative payment or care delivery models. Grant recipients gain opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and national recognition, with many presenting their work at the APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition.
