Description
This opportunity supports rural organizations in the early-stage planning and capacity-building needed to develop, implement, and sustain comprehensive substance use disorder (SUD) and related behavioral health service systems. The program focuses on opioid misuse and its impact on rural America, while recognizing the frequent co-occurrence of other substance use and mental health challenges. The funding is intended as a critical first step for rural communities that may face barriers to accessing larger, more complex federal grants, enabling them to build strong partnerships, conduct needs assessments, and develop actionable plans for future SUD service delivery.
RCORP-Planning grants are strictly for planning activities (not for direct services) and are designed to help communities:
- Build and formalize multi-sector partnerships,
- Assess local SUD-related needs and assets,
- Develop strategic action plans,
- Prepare providers and organizations for future SUD service delivery.
