This grant supports research projects that examine the current state of diversity and inclusion in Emergency Medicine, evaluate interventions designed to improve diversity and inclusion, or address disparities in healthcare outcomes among underrepresented or marginalized groups within the field. Funded proposals are expected to be novel, innovative, measurable, and reproducible, and may include qualitative and/or quantitative components. The research should provide evidence of disparities or potential interventions in Emergency Medicine practice and offer insights into best practices for enhancing workforce diversity and inclusion. Awardees are expected to present their findings at the SAEM Annual Meeting and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
