The Scholars-in-Residence Program at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture offers both long-term and short-term fellowships to support scholars and writers whose projects benefit from access to the Center’s unparalleled resources. The program is dedicated to advancing research on the history, politics, literature, and culture of peoples of African descent worldwide, fostering interdisciplinary exchange, and supporting scholarship that draws on the Center’s unique archival and manuscript collections. Fellows are expected to be in full-time residence at the Center, participate in weekly seminars, and engage with the vibrant intellectual life of the Schomburg Center.
