Description
The Illinois State Library administers this annual grant program to support library media services in qualified school libraries serving K–12 students. Illinois public school districts apply on behalf of their qualifying libraries. Awards are tied to official student enrollment and funds appropriated by the Illinois General Assembly.
Districts propose how they will use the funds to support their school library media programs, then report their expenditures. The application identifies priorities such as library materials, electronic resources, automation, staff development, programs, supplies, technology and library-related services. A district whose needs change may request a modification to its approved plan.
