Description
This opportunity provides competitive grants to State educational agencies (SEAs) to enhance statewide school safety systems and the physical security of schools. Administered by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE), the program is designed to support evidence-based safety measures, improve emergency response planning, upgrade infrastructure security, and strengthen preparedness training for school personnel and school resource officers. The program responds to recommendations from recent federal reports on school safety and prioritizes systemic, state-level leadership for effective local implementation.
