--- ## Description This funding opportunity supports fundamental research in sedimentary geology and paleobiology. Priority areas include the study of life, ecology, environments, and biogeography in geologic time based on fossil organisms; Earth's sedimentary lithosphere and its geological processes; dating and sequencing of geological and biological events; the record of sediment production, transport, and deposition; and understanding Earth's deep-time (pre-Holocene) climate systems.
