The Sexual Assault Services Formula Program (SAS Formula Program), administered by the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), provides formula grants to states and territories to support intervention, advocacy, accompaniment, and related assistance for victims of sexual assault. Funding is intended to establish, maintain, and expand rape crisis centers and other non-governmental or tribal programs that provide direct services to adult, youth, and child victims, as well as their family and household members, except for perpetrators. The program aims to ensure meaningful involvement of service providers, equitable distribution of funds, and prioritizes projects serving small towns, rural, remote, and tribal communities.
