The Lapidus Center for the Historical Analysis of Transatlantic Slavery at the Schomburg Center (New York Public Library) offers short-term fellowships for scholars whose research on the transatlantic slave trade, slavery, or anti-slavery requires focused, on-site access to unique materials held at the Schomburg Center. These fellowships are designed to advance scholarship by providing researchers with access to one of the world's premier collections on Atlantic slavery, as well as opportunities to share their findings through Library channels.
Fellows receive a stipend and are expected to be in residence at the Center for up to three consecutive months, conducting research that meaningfully engages with primary sources not readily available elsewhere.
