These fellowships are open to dissertation researchers, postdoctoral scholars, and independent researchers, and are awarded in various specialized areas including early American economy, African American history, women’s history, visual culture, history of the book, medicine, science, law, politics, reform, material culture, botany, newspaper publishing, and more.
The program leverages the complementary collections of both institutions, offering rich resources for interdisciplinary historical research. Some fellowships are specific to one institution, while others are jointly awarded.
