This short-term fellowship, offered jointly by the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture and Fort Ticonderoga, provides scholars at any career stage (from advanced graduate students to senior researchers) with the opportunity to conduct research using one of North America’s largest collections of military material culture. The fellowship supports projects focused on early America, broadly defined as the Atlantic World between approximately 1450 and 1820. Fellows gain direct access to rare books, manuscripts, artifacts, textiles, uniforms, maps, and more, with workspace and, when possible, accommodations provided on-site at Fort Ticonderoga.
