    Description

The SITE Program, administered by the Golden LEAF Foundation, is designed to help rural and economically distressed communities in North Carolina prepare industrial sites to attract new businesses and support local economic growth. The program operates in three phases:

    • Identification: Assists communities in locating and assessing potential industrial sites.
    • Due Diligence: Funds site investigations such as environmental assessments, archaeological studies, and mapping.
    • Development: Provides support for infrastructure improvements, clearing, and grading on sites ready for industrial use.

The SITE Program complements other state and regional site readiness initiatives and is structured to allow communities to enter at any phase, progressing as their needs evolve.
