Description
This opportunity funds a Small Business Transportation Technical Assistance Center (SBTTAC) for Region 5, administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU). The SBTTAC will provide outreach, individualized business counseling, technical assistance, capital infusion support, structured training, and stakeholder engagement to small businesses in the transportation sector. The goal is to strengthen the capacity of small businesses—especially those that are disadvantaged—to compete for and perform on contracts funded by DOT and other transportation agencies at federal, state, and local levels.
The program is designed to deliver measurable outcomes, such as increased access to capital, expanded participation in transportation contracting, and improved business readiness. The SBTTAC must maintain robust data collection and reporting, and all activities must align with federal regulations and program priorities. The center will serve Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, and Colorado.
