The Save Our Seas Foundation Small Grants program funds original, short-term projects that address research, conservation, or education related to marine chondrichthyan species, including sharks, rays, skates, sawfishes, and chimaeras. The grant is designed specifically for early-career scientists (within five years of their most recent degree), emerging conservation practitioners, and community-led initiatives worldwide. The program encourages pilot studies, novel methodologies, and grassroots approaches, providing a platform for new talent to demonstrate their potential and contribute to marine conservation.
Projects should be specific, finite, and ideally locally led, although international collaborations are welcome. The initiative is well suited for preliminary investigations that lay the groundwork for larger, long-term projects.
