SNAP Enrollment Grants support organizations in Ohio, West Virginia, and Virginia that help adults age 60 and older enroll in and retain SNAP benefits, reducing barriers to food assistance.

Description
The National Council on Aging (NCOA), with funding from the Walmart Foundation, will support nine organizations as SNAP Enrollment Centers. The centers will help adults age 60 and older in Ohio, West Virginia, and Virginia access and retain Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. NCOA selected these states because SNAP participation among eligible older adults is low and administrative barriers can make enrollment and recertification difficult.
Centers will conduct outreach, help older adults complete and submit applications, provide follow-up and recertification assistance, and report program data. NCOA will provide technical assistance, peer learning, coaching, shared tools, and access to Cumulus for intake and reporting. The network aims to assist approximately 15,000 older adults with SNAP enrollment.
